What is the Shelf Life?
For Jambalaya, Pastalaya and Yellow Rice it is 3 years. For Gumbo, it is 2 years.
Is it Spicy?
Our mixes are well seasoned, but not spicy hot. It will not burn your mouth. Many people believe that New Orleans food is just spicy hot. At Jambalaya Girl, we believe this is a misperception. The way we cook New Orleans style is with FLAVOR, not heat.
Is it Vegetarian?
The Jambalaya, recipe ingredients are vegetarian. The Gumbo is not, as the Gumbo recipe ingredients include a chicken stock made from chicken.
Are there any Shellfish?
No there are no shellfish in our products. Customers can opt to add seafood to the dish, however there are no shellfish in the product.
Can I make this in a ______?
In addition to the stove top instructions on the recipe card, there are many cookers that can be used to prepare our recipes. Pretty much, if it can get the water to a boiling temperature, it can cook these products. Search on JambalayaGirl.com for instructions on how to cook with a slow cooker, rice cooker, Instant Pot, Cast Iron Pot, oven and microwave.
