The Carnival Spirit is alive in New Orleans even though parades are canceled this year for Mardi Gras. And we want to share that spirit with you no matter where you are, or better yet, “where y’at!”

I was born during Mardi Gras and started my company during Mardi Gras. So, this Jambalaya Girl is not missing out and I want you to enjoy it too. Here are some ways you can still celebrate Mardi Gras in 2021.

Get you some Jambalaya. Get you some Gumbo. Order a King Cake. Throw some purple, green and gold on your front porch. Then join the party!

Krewe of House Floats

This idea was started by one of my neighbors in Algiers Point in New Orleans. Kudos to Megan, this is awesome. The plan is to parade at home by decorating our houses like Mardi Gras floats. There are now thousands of “House Floats” across not only the city, but the country, that are getting creative and showing off their best float décor. Check out the map of House Floats here.

Dear Friends,

I hope that you all are safe and healthy. In this time of uncertainty, our greatest wish is that our taste of New Orleans brings you some joy and comfort by coming together and connecting with loved ones. If you can’t all be at the dinner table together right now, set up a virtual meal, move your table to the porch and talk to your neighbors, live stream some New Orleans music from WWOZ or even catch a Virtual Gig from New Orleans musicians!

Our original spring plan was to hand out thousands of these Recipe Booklets that showcase many ways to make our dishes beyond Jambalaya & Gumbo. We’re happy to share this with you online, especially now that we need to be creative as possible with what ingredients are available at your local stores.

Stocked up on can chicken, beans or diced tomatoes? You can turn that into a New Orleans seasoned dish with any of our blends.
