Cook Me Somethin' Mister!
The Carnival Spirit is alive in New Orleans even though parades are canceled this year for Mardi Gras. And we want to share that spirit with you, no matter where you are, or better yet, “where y’at!”
I was born during Mardi Gras and started my company during Mardi Gras. So, this Jambalaya Girl is not missing out and I want you to enjoy it too. Here are some ways you can still celebrate Mardi Gras in 2021.
Get you some Jambalaya. Get you some Gumbo. Order a King Cake. Throw some purple, green and gold on your front porch. Then join the party!
Krewe of House Floats
This idea was started by one of my neighbors in Algiers Point in New Orleans. Kudos to Megan, this is awesome. The plan is to parade at home by decorating our houses like Mardi Gras floats. There are now thousands of “House Floats” across not only the city, but the country, that are getting creative and showing off their best float décor. Check out the map of House Floats here.
We're loving the food theme houses too, check out the list captured by Eater New Orleans.
