Jambalaya Girl is competing with “Sweet Swine O Mine” for Hogs for the Cause Pork Cook Off.
10% of all Proceeds from CookMeSomethinMister.com will go toward Hogs for the Cause, a charity pork cook off benefiting pediatric brain cancer patients and their families. Order by March 24 to participate.
Hogs for the Cause, a pork cook off event benefiting pediatric brain cancer patients and their families, takes place March 24 at City Park in New Orleans. The purpose of Hogs for the Cause is to provide aid to families that are struggling with the financial burdens of taking care of a child being treated for DIPG, a rare pediatric brain cancer.
Our all girls team “Sweet Swine O Mine” is competing against 59 other pork teams in various pork categories and in fundraising totals. We are going to hold our own as the ONLY all girls team since the cook off began. In 2011, we won 1st place in the sauce category, thanks to our South Carolina native team member Natalie Butts and her family secret inspired Butts Sauce (http://www.facebook.com/ButtsSauce) The event features amateur cooks and professional chefs preparing their best pork dishes for all festival goers to enjoy!
