Jambalaya Girl to Cook at Super Bowl NFL VIP Tailgate January 10 2013

NEW ORLEANS – January 9, 2013 – The New Orleans Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee Emerging Business Program has selected Cook Me Somethin’ Mister to cook for more than a thousand of its VIP guests on Super Bowl Sunday in New Orleans, Feb. 3, 2013. Jambalaya Girl and her cooking team will serve Cook Me Somethin’ Mister’s Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya to showcase one of New Orleans’ signature dishes.

“It is an honor to be selected for this role and I am proud to represent the host city, New Orleans,” said Kristen Preau, President of Cook Me Somethin’ Mister who is better known as Jambalaya Girl.

No stranger to championship-size tailgating, Jambalaya Girl competed with Drago’s Seafood Restaurant on a team representing New Orleans for the Bing National Tailgating Competition at the 2011 Dallas Super Bowl. Cook Me Somethin’ Mister was also featured on Guy Fieri’s Tailgate Warriors show on Food Network, and the inspiration for the company was kicked off with a national tailgating fundraising tour after Hurricane Katrina.

Cook Me Somethin’ Mister is a New Orleans family business that offers a line of New Orleans food and party cooking products, starting with its Jambalaya Rice Mix. The Jambalaya comes from the family recipe of owner Kristen Preau, better known as Jambalaya Girl. Recognized by her signature fork earrings, Jambalaya Girl has cooked this dish with her Dad since she was tall enough to stand next to the pot and cooked it later in life to raise money for displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina through a national tailgating tour called, “Get New Orleans Cookin’ Again!”

The New Orleans Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee Emerging Business Program presented by Entergy is a collaborative effort by the NFL and the Super Bowl Host Committee to provide business and economic growth opportunities to local women and minority owned businesses.
